Speech in Focus Speech Pathology Service Team

Speech in Focus, Speech Pathology Services is a friendly, experienced and family centred practice offering assessments and therapy for children and adults. The speech pathology team provides services in speech, language, stuttering, social thinking, literacy and swallowing.

Speech in Focus, Speech Pathology Services' belief is to make changes in the person's life and their world for the better.

Our speech pathologists regularly meet to collaborate and apply the best practices to deliver the optimal therapy outcomes for our clients.  

Our practice is custom designed, featuring expansive windows allowing natural light in from every angle. The waiting area is spacious with ample seating. Children are welcomed with beanbags to rest in and a range of toys and books to enjoy whilst waiting. Our consultation rooms are designed with your comfort and therapy needs in mind.  We are well resourced to respond to communication and swallowing needs for young children through to adulthood.

Evett Lattouf, Director and Principal Speech Pathologist

Evett Lattouf is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist, who qualified from the University of Sydney with a B. App. Sc. (Speech Pathology), and La Trobe University Victoria with a Grad. Cert. (Dysphagia). Evett is certified with Hanen's 'It Takes Two To Talk' and 'More Than Words' programmes. She is an English and Lebanese speaking speech pathologist.

She is a member of Speech Pathology Australia and a registered provider with:

  • Private Health Insurance Funds
  • Medicare Australia for the Chronic Diseases Management Plan.
  • NDIS

Her experiences include intellectual and developmental disabilities, language delays, learning difficulties, speech sound disorders, pragmatics, autism spectrum disorders, literacy, bilingual language, voice, feeding and swallowing difficulties as well as augmentative and alternative communication.

She has worked in education, disability services, aged care facilities, supported accommodation, community health, hospitals and in private practice.

Bethanie Hain, Speech Pathologist

Bethanie Hain is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist and a member of Speech Pathology Australia, a registered provider with:

  • Private Health Insurance Funds
  • Medicare Australia for the Chronic Diseases Management Plan.

Bethanie completed her studies at the University of Sydney, first studying a Bachelor of Int. and Global Studies (Linguistics, Govt. & I.R.) before completing her Masters of Speech and Language Pathology. Bethanie is certified with Hanen's 'It Takes Two To Talk' programme. 

During her studies she gained experience working with both young and school-age children and adults in a variety of settings, including mainstream schools, community health centres, disability services, rehabilitation centres and in private practice across suburban Sydney and rural NSW.

Her experiences include working with developmental language delays, acquired language difficulties, speech sound disorders, stuttering, literacy, voice, social communication, and alternative and augmentative communication.

Isabel Rae Timmerman,  Speech Pathologist

Isabel Rae Timmerman is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist and a member of Speech Pathology Australia, a registered provider with:

  • Medicare Australia for the Chronic Diseases Management Plan.

Isabel completed her studies at the University of Sydney, with a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics and Psychology (Honours), and a Masters in Speech and Language Pathology.

Isabel has worked as a Childcare Educator with primary school students for eight years. She has experience working at the Shepherd Centre for children who are deaf or hard of hearing, in primary schools, and in the disability sector.

Her interests are in developmental language delays, speech sound disorders, literacy, social communication, stuttering, and alternative and augmentative communication. 

 

Travelling by Car

We are located in a quiet residential area with unrestricted street parking. 

Access into the premises is a two step entry.

Travelling by Public Transport

We are a 20 minute walk along Burwood Road towards Belfield, from Belmore Railway Station. 

Alternatively, you can catch the 415 bus service from Burwood Road at Bridge Street, opposite Belmore station, (Stop ID 219223),  and disembark at Burwood Road, opposite Belmore Boys High School (Stop ID 219268).

If you are travelling from Strathfield you can catch either 415 to Belmore Boys High School (Stop ID 219262), or the 450 bus service to Yerrick Rd opposite Merrick Ave Lakemba (Stop ID 2195101). 

The walk takes about 10 minutes from either stop.
